Allegheny Glass & Mirror's first employee was Lois Simanski's father,
Charles Storm. He started with the company from day one and worked as
shop supervisor until 1984. Although Charlie worked most of his life
as either a coal miner or miscellaneous laborer, he had no problem stepping
in to the shoes as a glass shop foreman. Whether doing shop repairs,
ordering material, mixing paint(in the early years) or dealing with
customers and sales associates, Charlie always exuded the integrity
and honesty of a seasoned professional. Many of today's shop personnel
are using Charlie's repair techniques. Anyone who worked with him knew
him as a excellent mechanic with would work faithfully on a project
until it was completed.
After Charlie retired, he would often return to the shop to reminisce
with workers about his days as shop boss. Occasionally, he would even
help work on one of his favorite jobs. " Screen Repair" Charlie
died on Sept. 10 2000 Although he is gone, his memory and legacy will
live on with the Allegheny Glass & Mirror family for years to come.
